E.ON offers a huge variety of roles across the company, including:

Customer-facing roles — talking directly with energy customers in their customer services team
Marketing and communications — managing social media channels or brand campaigns
Professional services — working alongside legal experts, or within HR and finance teams
Hands-on engineering roles — managing generation assets such as biomass power stations or heat networks

Degree apprenticeships

One of the main routes for school leavers is E.ON's degree apprenticeship. This allows full-time work at E.ON, whilst studying for a fully funded degree and earning a competitive salary at the same time. A degree apprenticeship is an excellent way to join the company and gain four or five years of experience across different parts of the business through several placements. At the end of the degree apprenticeship, E.ON will support apprentices in finding a permanent role within the business in an area which matches their skills, experience, and interests.

Degree apprentices generally work four days a week in the office or at home and then spend one day a week studying for their degree.

Entry onto E.ON's degree apprenticeship schemes is competitive and although requirements vary from scheme to scheme, they're generally looking for:

GCSE English and maths at grade 4 or above
A level passes at Grade B or the equivalent

The application process:

Online application — A quick and easy online application so E.ON can find out some information about you. Candidates also need to upload either a CV or personal statement, whichever they feel best suits them.

Online assessments — Candidates who meet the basic requirements are invited to complete online assessments, including a personality or logical reasoning test and business scenarios. These help E.ON get to know candidates a whole lot better and check their suitability for the role and for E.ON.

Video interview — Candidates are asked to complete a short video interview to help E.ON find out more about them and why they're applying for a degree apprenticeship.

In-person assessment centre — If successful online, candidates are invited to an in-person assessment centre at one of E.ON's offices. The assessment centres give candidates the opportunity to see the office and meet assessors from around the business, giving them a good understanding of what life is like at E.ON and whether it’s a good fit for them. Plus, they can meet other degree apprentice candidates too.
