Our early careers recruitment process is designed to give candidates the opportunity to demonstrate their skills, motivations and potential, while also providing a clear insight into life at the firm. The journey begins with a short application form, where candidates outline their academic background, work experience and achievements. This is followed by “Bright Apply”, an AI-supported virtual interview that allows candidates to expand on their experiences and explain why they are interested in the firm; all responses are reviewed by humans rather than automated decision-making.

Successful candidates then complete a situational judgement test, which assesses their approach to realistic work scenarios, along with verbal and numerical reasoning. This stage is designed to evaluate decision-making, problem-solving and alignment with the firm’s values.

Those who progress are invited to an assessment centre, which includes a case study exercise and an interview with both a senior fee-earner and a member of the People team. Candidates are expected to analyse information, demonstrate commercial awareness and communicate their ideas clearly.

The final stage is the vacation scheme, offering a first-hand experience of the role. During this time, candidates are assessed on their work, engagement and collaboration, culminating in a final group assessment. Offers for training contracts are made based on overall performance across the scheme.
